Subject :Re:Looking for Sample Budgets for International Experiential Learning Trips
I can share both!
For our domestic course travel, budget line items can include:
* Transportation (flight, train, or rental vehicle)
* Lodging (faculty and students)
* Group meals
* Entry tickets
* Faculty reimbursables (per diem, airport parking, hotel parking, etc)
For overnight trips, we charge students a $100 program fee to offset some of these costs.
For international course travel:
* Faculty airfare (x2)
* Faculty insurance (x2 from Study Abroad)
* Faculty misc reimbursable expenses (x2)
* Faculty per diem (x2 max based on State Department)
* Provider cost per student (from provider proposal)
* Cost of a forced single due to gender imbalance
Our study abroad course logistics are handled by third-party providers (CIEE, WorldStrides, etc) and amortize costs for two faculty into the student price. We charge the students a modest amount over actual cost.
I will also add that I make it a point to find hotels that offer breakfast
Happy to share further via email ([email protected]) |
